Ancient Egypt

Ancient Egypt was a very interesting period. It's also mysterious because of all the pyramids - nobody knows how they're built and they're a very dangerous place to be.

When a Pharoah died he would be put through a mummification process. Here is a little clip on mummification that's from Horrible Histories, and is quite catchy! (Copy and paste the link if it doesn't work)

SumDog

SumDog is a maths game that our teacher suggested we signed up for instead of being on facebook.
On SumDog you create a character and play cool games. At the end of every game  you get coins and every 500 coins you get you have an animal rank. At the moment I'm a narwhal which is the 3rd rank.
Why not sign up? It's great!

Triathlon try out

On Saturday 18th of August I went to a Triathlon try out day at the Carnegie. The first thing I did was swimming it was very hard,we did all kinds of things like front crawl while carrying a brick and relays.
Next I rode my bike we did 4  laps of the car park using gears. Finally I did some running my favourite was the Endurance.
I'm definitely staying on the waiting list!

My favourite instrument

The piano is great fun to play. It's very musical and it's so easy to make a note on it. The piano sounds great when you can play a simple tune on it. I'm on grade 2 at the moment - thats like level 2. Some pieces I learned to play were quite hard when I started to do my Grade 1, but I got it in the end and passed my exam with distinction!
I think the piano's a good instrument to learn to start with, and I really enjoy performing to other people.

My favourite books

I like books, especially when Andy Stanton releases a new Mr Gum book.

His newest book is called Mr Gum in The Hound of Lamonic Bibber Bumper Book.
I like this book because it's got a few stories in it, for example 'Young Master Gum Makes a Friend'. The characters in these books are:
• Alan Taylor - the gingerbread man with electrick musles
• Martin Laundrette
• Jonathon Ripples, the fattest man in town
• Friday O'Leary - the stupid detective
• Mr Gum - the baddest man in the world
• Billy William III - Mr Gum's dastardly side kick
• Old Granny the sherry loving granny
• Polly the little girl
• Mrs.Lovely Friday O'leary's wife
• Jake the dog

I like these books because the characters are really funny and some of the catchphrases are absolutely ridiculous!

I think Andy Stanton is a really good author, and David Tazzyman is the illustrator and I really like his illustrations.

I recommend to read all the Mr Gum books in order and some of them are a little bit complicated, and some are really easy to follow. In the Bumper Book there's also some really funny stickers, for example one with Alan Taylor holding a giant tin full of money, and 'I'm a nibblehead' one.

My favourite book

I've just finished a book by David Walliams called Gangsta Granny. It is illustrated by Tony Ross. It is about a boy called Ben and he thinks his granny is really boring until she lies that she is a gangster. I would recommend this book for 8 to adult. This book is David Walliam's funniest book yet - and I laughed for the whole book!
